The XL-Leader: CEO Sukh Chugh

At XL-Lead we love getting to know our clients and candidates and putting them into the spotlight. Keeping with that spirit, we wanted to share some of our amazing team with you. First up in our talent spotlight, Sukh Chugh. We sat down with Sukh and asked him a handful of questions so you could learn a bit more about him both personally and professionally. Here is what we found out!

Q: What is your current position/tile at XL-Lead?

A: CEO

Q: What was your previous role before XL-Lead? What led you to joining the company?

A: I was a Director at a large bio-pharmaceutical company. They were bought out and I tried my best to integrate with the combined company. It was not the right challenge for me, and I was offered a severance package. Instead of jumping back into the job market, I used the opportunity to do something I had always wanted to do: start my own consulting practice. I’m forever grateful to my old boss, Linda Smart – now with Southland Industries, for giving XL-Lead our first project.

Q: When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A: Run my own consulting practice.

Q: What do you see for yourself and/or XL-Lead in the next 5 years?

A: I see us helping our clients solve their more difficult problems, helping them find the best talent available, and utilizing AI responsibly to make the process of recruiting faster, more cost-effective, and more accurate.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?

A: My Mother and My Brother. They passed a couple of years ago and I would do anything to spend more time with them.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?

A: All expenses paid!!! If I choose to stay at home in Fullerton, I guess that means you cover the mortgage and all my bills. I’ll take that!

Q: What is something about you most people don’t know or would be surprised to find out about you?

A: I used to be a DJ. I started a volunteer-run non-profit. I biked from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I used to live in a garage with very little possessions. I travelled to 28 countries. I love my alone time. I’m a huge Los Angeles Clippers Fan (wait, everyone knows that already).
